SBA Loan Processor/Special Projects Officer
Principal Responsibilities
The primary responsibility is to ensure that Self-Help’s processing of Small Business Administration (SBA) loans complies with the SBA Standard Operating Procedures and SBA directives. Other responsibilities include: ensuring all requirements for SBA loans to close are met in a timely manner, including working with borrowers to gather all of their documentation; preparing SBA application documents in conjunction with loan officers and underwriters; pursuing new SBA programs and products that are relevant to Self-Help’s lending; monitoring the SBA to keep up with changes that may impact Self-Help’s lending and disseminating relevant information to others on the lending team; and training loan officers on SBA issues. In addition, the Processor will act as a loan officer when a branch is short-staffed.
Desired Qualifications
Candidates must be highly detailed oriented and have excellent organizational skills. They must be self-starters with a proven ability to take initiative. Loan processor or loan closing experience is desired, and knowledge of SBA lending is a plus. Strong written and verbal communication skills and basic financial analysis are necessary. Applicants must be able to work well as part of a team. Sensitivity to issues of low-wealth borrowers and a desire to work in a racially and socially diverse organization are essential.
